Who are we?

Voci Cantanti at Farnham Castle, June 2000Voci Cantanti was formed in 1982 by a group of friends living in and around Farnborough, Hampshire. Since then, the choir has developed a distinctive musical personality, performing a wide range of religious and secular music - both a cappella and with instrumentalists.

The choir has appeared regularly at some of London's most prestigious venues, including St Martin-in-the-Fields, the Barbican and the South Bank.

Wider musical experiences have included supplying the backing vocals, both in concert and on CD, for Gary Brooker and Procul Harum in 1997, when they celebrated the 30th anniversary of the release of A Whiter Shade of Pale.

Voci Cantanti at Farnham Castle, June 2000A busy concert schedule and a number of recordings for film and television have attracted a loyal audience and built an enviable local and national reputation.

Although Voci Cantanti is a purely secular organisation the choir also performs sacred music and participates in religious services. The choir regularly visits Cathedrals to sing for services over a weekend. In July 2003 the choir will visit Norwich Cathedral to sing for services. Previous trips have taken the choir to the Cathedrals of Hereford and Exeter.

Voci Cantanti runs the Friends of Voci Cantanti scheme, which entitles participants to a discount for the season's concerts. Friends can either have individual or family membership. Click on the Be A Friend link above to find out more details.
